Artist Claire Jackson lives and works in Leicestershire.
Claire's portraits are mostly executed in oil paints, though she also works in pencil, pastel and water colour.
She draws inspiration from a number of other artists including Chagall, Vuillard and Matisse.
Claire paints her portraits both from life and from photographs. She paints subjects either in her own studio or in the home of the sitter. Portraits from life require sittings of two days or more.

Claire had a popular ehibition at the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester in August 2012. Her next exhibition there will be held from 26 August until 22 September 2013. Whilst the exhibition in August 2012 celebrated cultural diversity in Leicester, as well as featuring still life and other new work, the 2013 exhibition will celebrate Leicester's historic heritage, focusing on King Richard III - but will again feature other new work.
